We also provide information regarding how you can access and update your information and make certain choices about how your information is used.

Our Privacy Policy applies to all providers, users, visitors, and others who use the Website (“Customers”). By visiting and using the Website, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy. You understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to post content and information, including your name, location preferences, address, site information, comments and other materials (“Customer Content”).

A. What Information Do We Gather About You?

The information gathered when you interact with the Website falls into two categories: 1) Personal information, which includes personal information you supply when you email CHC; and 2) non-personal information collected through technological means, which includes tracking information.

1) Personal Information

Email Contact. We offer you the opportunity to email CHC directly through the Website’s “Contact Us” page. If you email CHC, we may collect, analyze, and use personal information you provide in the email, including names, the email or IP address from which you send the information, and any other personal information you include in the email.

CHC may also send you emails related to account verification, changes or updates to features of the Services, technical and security notices, reminders of upcoming dates or course registration or certification deadlines, and the like. These communications are necessary and, therefore, you may not be able to opt of from receiving them. Information you provide in response to these emails may be gathered by CHC.

2) Non-Personal Information Collected Using Technology

We use various Internet technologies to manage and track use of the Website. Non-personal information that we collect using these technologies may be combined with other information about you.

Device Information. We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access the Website, such as IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language and other transactional information.

Mobile Data. When you visit or use the Website on your phone, tablet, or other mobile device, we may receive, store and process different types of information about your location, including general information (e.g., IP address, zip code) and more specific information (e.g., GPS-based functionality on mobile devices). These third parties may use the information to track and analyze statistical information on usage and volume from the Customers, and/or track and analyze browsing patterns of our Customers including enhanced cross-device functionality. All data collected and analyzed on our behalf is owned and used only by CHC and/or its Affiliates, as defined below, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy.

Log file information. Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you make a request to access (i.e., visit) a web page. It can also be provided when the content of the webpage is downloaded to your browser or device. When you use the Website, our servers may automatically record certain log file information, including your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser or device type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information. We may also collect similar information from emails sent to CHC, which then help us track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the Website.

IP Addresses. We may log your IP address (the location of your computer or device on the Internet). We use IP addresses for system administration and troubleshooting purposes, to customize content for specific regions, and to track access and use of the Website.

Cookies, Beacons, Local Storage and Other Similar Technologies. We use “cookies,” Web beacons, HTML5 local storage and other similar technologies. These technologies allow us to manage access to and use of the Website and help us understand how people use the Website.

We may also allow our business partners to use their cookies and other tracking technologies on our Website. As a result, when you access or use the Website, you will provide or make available certain information to us and to our business partners.

While you may disable the usage of cookies through your browser settings, we do not change our practices in response to a “Do Not Track” signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application. We track your activities if you click on advertisements for CHC services on third party platforms such as search engines and social networks, and may use analytics to track what you do in response to those advertisements.

We may, either directly or through third party companies and individuals we engage to provide services to us, also continue to track your behavior within the Website for purposes of our own customer support, analytics, research, product development, fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, as well as to enable you to use and access the Website and pay for your activities within the Website. We may also, either directly or through third party companies and individuals we engage to provide services to us, track your behavior when using our Website to market and advertise to you within the Website and on third party websites.

Third-party social plugins. The Website may use social plugins which are provided and operated by third-party companies, such as Facebook’s Like Button. As a result of this, you may send to the third-party company the information that you are viewing within the Website. If you are not logged into your account with the third-party company, then the third party may not know your identity. If you are logged into your account with the third-party company, then the third party may be able to link information about your visit to the Website to your account with them. Similarly, your interactions with the social plugin may be recorded by the third party. B. What Do We Do with the Information We Gather About You

In addition to some of the specific uses of information described in this Privacy Policy, we may use information that we receive to:

  • Improve, test, and monitor the effectiveness of the Website;
  • Optimize Customer experience of the Website;
  • Help create and maintain a trusted and safer environment within the Website, such as fraud detection and prevention, conducting investigations and risk assessments, verifying the information in listings, verifying any identifications provided by you, and conducting checks against databases such as public government databases;
  • Send you service, support and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you;

For example, as part of our fraud prevention efforts, we may scan and analyze messages to mask contact information and references to other websites. This helps to prevent fraudulent actors from asking Customers to send them money outside of the Website, such as by bank transfer or other money transfer methods. We may also scan, review or analyze messages for research and product development purposes, as well as to debug product offerings.

We will not review, scan, or analyze your communications for sending third party marketing messages to you. We will also not sell these reviews or analyses of communications to third parties. We will also use automated methods to carry out these reviews or analyses where reasonably possible. However, from time to time we may have to manually review some communications. By using the Website, you consent that CHC, in its sole discretion, may review, scan, analyze, and store your communications, whether done manually or through automated means.

C. How Do We Store Your Information?

Your information collected through the Website may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which CHC, its Affiliates or service providers maintain facilities. CHC may transfer information that we collect about you, including personal information across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. D. How and with Whom Do We Share the Information that We Gather?

Your Personal Information may be disclosed to the following groups, as described below:

Other Customers. When a Customer signs up through the Website for a CHC training course via a third party training partner, we may ask the Customer to review the course, the instructor and/or the services provides by the instructor. Reviews from Customers may become public within the Website.

Affiliates. We may share the information you give us or we otherwise gather from you with businesses that are legally part of the same group of companies that CHC is part of, or that become part of that group (“Affiliates”). Affiliates may use this information to help provide, understand, and improve the Website (including by providing analytics) and the Affiliates’ own websites, applications and other services (including by providing you with better and more relevant experiences). Affiliates are required to honor the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

Third Parties. As described in this Privacy Policy, business partners or other third parties may have access to the information you provide or we otherwise gather about you. CHC does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. The Website is not directed at children under the age of 13. In addition, access to or use of the Website by anyone under 18 requires parental consent.
